Jose Mourinho has signed a contract extension with Real Madrid.
The Special One made good on his task at the Bernabeu this season, beating Barcelona to the league title.
But all season long speculation suggested Mourinho would leave Real before his contact expired.
It has been suggested that had he led Los Blancos to the Champions League title, he would indeed have quit the club.
Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to return to the English Premier League in the future, and Chelsea had hoped to lure him back to Stamford Bridge.
But Mourinho, who was given unprecedented power at Real in order to usurp Barca as Spanish champions, has now nipped the speculation in the bud.
He has put pen to paper on a contract extension which will keep him at the Bernabeu for two more years at least.
48-year-old Mourinho will now strive to retain Real’s league crown, as well as add a third Champions League title to his glittering trophy collection. Soccer-Laduma
